She was successively in charge of travelling libraries, a district library, war-time information and, in 1949, work with young people. From 1958 until retirement she was, first, Librarian of the Reference Library and, after subject departmentalization, of the Social Sciences Library. She published an historical novel, The young men dream (1934) and followed it with three volumes of translated fairy stories. For the LA she edited Books for young people, Vol.1 (1952).
